Summary
The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in expanding our market presence and securing new commercial construction projects. This individual will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the company’s growth in a competitive market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the construction industry, and a proven track record in sales.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development plan to increase market share and drive revenue growth.
- Find new business opportunities, including new clients, projects, and markets, through research, networking, and industry relationships.
- Understand industry trends and market conditions to inform strategic decision-making.
- Conduct regular meetings with prospective and existing clients to understand their needs, deliver tailored solutions, and ensure long-term satisfaction.
- Generate and qualify leads through direct prospecting, networking, and industry events.
- Use CRM software to track interactions, manage client data, analyze trends, and create reports to optimize client engagement and opportunities.
- Oversee CRM Platform and delegate input at divisional level.
- Prepare and present proposals, including project scope, budgets, timelines, and value propositions.
- Oversee the creation and submission of client-specific RFQ responses.
- Oversee 3rd party marketing group and all marketing materials
- Partner with internal teams, including project managers, estimators, and executives, to create responses and proposals.
- Use market knowledge to identify potential growth areas and new opportunities for the company.
- Represent Liles at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Build a strong network within each of the Liles Divisional Verticals to enhance visibility and create business opportunities.
- Plan and execute community engagement initiatives to promote the organization’s mission, values, and goals within the community.
- Track sales metrics, project progress, and business development efforts to report progress and forecast future growth.
- Review results and adjust strategies to meet or exceed company goals.
- Create and provide monthly targets and reports for company scorecard.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction industry.
- Proven experience securing new business, building client relationships, and closing deals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, project types, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exemplifies collaboration, initiative, integrity, and ability to exceed expectations.
- Ability to travel regionally in SC & NC.
