Liles Construction was the proud construction partner behind the repurposed ReWa Pump House in Greenville, SC! This unique project breathed new life into this former wastewater treatment plant—originally built in the 1920s—transforming it into a dynamic, multi-purpose event, conference, and green space for the community.
While not officially considered a historic building, the renovation beautifully preserves and highlights the rich heritage and industrial past of Greenville. The main building, which is approximately 4,000 square feet, now serves as a unique venue, complemented by an adjacent 300-square-foot prep kitchen building.
One of the most captivating features and biggest challenges of the project was preserving the original pump house equipment, which remains prominently on display in the newly renovated building. We utilized the basement to showcase this impressive machinery, while walkable structural glass panels on the main level allow visitors to admire the historic equipment.
The ReWa Pump House project stands as yet another testament to Liles Construction's expertise in adaptive reuse, demonstrating our ability to seamlessly blend historical preservation with modern functionality and create spaces that honor the past while serving the needs of the present and future.
